HyFoSy Foam salpingography

images-3.jpeg

Foam salpingography- HyFoSy- is a new method of investigating the patency of the fallopian tubes of the uterus. Diagnosing tubal pathology is a key part of investigating female infertility.

Basic Examination until today consisted of hysterosalpingography (HSG), which is performed by radiologists and the use of X-rays (radiography).

HyFoSy is performed in the doctor's office, where a catheter is placed in the cervix (examination similar to taking a Pap test) from which a special foam is injected into the endometrial cavity. At the same time, with the use of a transvaginal ultrasound head, the path of the foam to the fallopian tubes and finally to the peritoneal cavity is monitored (if the fallopian tubes are patent).

The examination lasts 5-10 minutes, does not require local anesthesia, has no side effects for the woman, does not have a higher cost compared to hysterosalpingography  and the result of the examination is acceptable from the In Vitro Fertilization Committee of the EOPYY.

HyFoSy has the following advantages:

1. It is carried out in the gynecological clinic, not in the hospital

2. It is well tolerated from the patient- no pain

3. It is done using ultrasound - no radiation
